The Super Eagles of Nigeria have intensified their training ahead of their second friendly encounter with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon scheduled for Tuesday, June 8.

Both teams had met four days earlier at the Stadion Weiner Neustadt, Vienna, Austria where a lone strike by Zambo Anguissa gave Cameroon victory over their neighbours.

Nigeria and Cameroon face off in double friendlies in preparation of the World Cup qualifiers slated for September this year and the Indomitable Lions were victorious in the first encounter.

Both teams approached the encounter playing for pride as it was explosive right from the start to the end of the encounter.

The only goal of the game came in the 37th minute through André-Frank Zambo Anguissa who released a low but powerful shot from about 25 yards leaving Maduka Okoye hapless in goal.

And ahead of the second game, the Super Eagles have increased their level of preparation as anything short of victory will see them go down the FIFA rankings.

Coach Gernot Rohr is under pressure to win the tie as both teams square-up once again before they depart the Austrian City.

Nigeria will miss the services of William Troost-Ekong and Jamilu Collins when they file out on Tuesday in Vienna.

Both Watford and Padderborn stars were said to have picked up knocks during their earlier fixture which ended 1-0 in favour of the Indomitable Lions on Friday, June 4.

Rohr will now be forced to look for a replacement for the duo in their next meeting as both teams continued to prepare for their World Cup qualifiers in September.

Although Collins was on the pitch for the entirety of the game, Ekong was however replaced by debutant Valentine Ozornwafor towards the end of the game.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Italian giants Napoli are reportedly willing to extend Victor Osimhen’s five-year-deal for a further year and also improve his wage to five million Euros.

It was gathered that the 22-year-old forward will put pen to paper and now earn higher salary, but a very high clause is also expected to be etched in the contract.

Last summer, Napoli completed the transfer agreement for the youngster for fee plus an array of potential bonuses that took the deal up to €50million (about N23billion).
