Jordan Anderson, 30, has been jailed for life after he stabbed his ex-partner Aleah Masih, 24, to death while her five-year-old daughter clutched her hand

A man who stabbed his 24-year-old ex-partner in the spine has been jailed for life, as Thames Valley Police faces an investigation over how it handled the woman’s pleas.

Jordan Anderson, 30, stalked his ex Aleah Masih before knifing her 15 times outside a Co-op supermarket in Oxford while her five-year-old daughter clung to her hand on March 12.

He was jailed for a minimum of 13 years and seven months after being convicted of attempted murder at Oxford Crown Court. He also admitted carrying a knife in a public place and stalking involving fear or violence.

Thames Valley police also faces an investigation after it failed to send an officer to visit the victim despite her raising alarm with the force on the morning of the attack after receiving a barrage of emails from Anderson demanding to meet.

Prosecutor Michael Roques told the court that no one came to visit her so, at 3pm, she went to collect her little girl from school.

Anderson approached her outside a Co-op supermarket in Oxford before launching his attack. He was jailed for attempted murder, after admitting carrying a knife in a public place and stalking involving fear or violence. (Pictured: The scene after the stabbing in March)

Ms Masih had received four emails from her attacker, with the first reading ‘talk to me please’ and the second, which came minutes later, saying, ‘can you please message me back’.

The third, sent at 9.32am, said ‘I really need to speak to you’ before the final one, sent at 11.32am, demanded that she contact him via Snapchat.

‘She contacted police, said he is at it again, he is still trying to communicate with me and I am concerned,’ said Mr Roques.

‘The police said ‘right we will send somebody to come and speak to you.’

‘It seems in fact nobody did go and speak to Aleah that day, at least not before she had to go and pick up her daughter from school.’

Thames Valley Police is also facing an investigation after Ms Masih called the force on the day of the attack, after she received a barrage of emails from Anderson, but no officers came to visit her. (Pictured: The scene outside the Co-op supermarket in March)

Their relationship ended in December, the court heart, but he continued to message her and threatened to beat her up and kill her.

After he knifed her in what a judge Peter Ross described as a ‘frenzied’ attack, Anderson, of no fixed address, was arrested the next day and charged on March 14.

Thames Valley Police confirmed to the court that it made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, which will investigate the officers involved.
