Congratulatory messages have poured in for a Nigerian woman in the United States identified as Funmi Olorunnipa Badejo as she was appointed member of the Office of the White House Counsel ahead of Joe Biden’s swearing-in.

According to a press release by Biden-Harris Transition, Badejo was appointed as associate counsel.

Taking to her LinkedIn page to celebrate her appointment, the woman wrote:

“Honored to be serving in the Biden-Harris Administration in the White House Counsel’s Office. Building Back Better will take effort from all of us and I am glad to be able to do my part.”

Apart from Badejo, some Nigerians were also appointed into different offices by President-elect Biden whose cabinet is set ahead of his swearing-in.

Recall that weeks after naming Nigeria’s Adewale Adeyemo as the deputy treasury secretary, US president-elect Joe Biden appointed Nigeria-born Osaremen Okolo as one of his advisers on COVID-19.

Okolo, who is a daughter of Nigerian immigrants, was appointed on Thursday, December 31, as one of the members of the Biden-Harris COVID-19 response team.

With her appointment, the Nigeria-born American becomes one of the first 100 White House appointees that will work with the president-elect when he finally takes over the Oval Office on January 20.

In other news, the United States’ president-elect, Joe Biden, has reacted to the impeachment of the outgoing president, Donald Trump.

Trump was on Wednesday, January 13, impeached for the second time after he incited his followers to attack the Capitol in an effort to stop the certification of Biden’s presidential election win.

Reacting on Wednesday, January 14, Biden noted that after Trump’s impeachment by the House of Representatives, the process of removing him from office will continue at the Senate.
