(CNN)Masks have entered the chat on “Saturday Night Live.”

Kate McKinnon — as Dr. Anthony Fauci — opened this weekend’s show with ridiculous everyday scenarios that attempted to answer questions surrounding the latest federal guidelines on mask requirements for fully vaccinated people.

“It’s your boy, Fauci, the patron saint of Purell,” McKinnon’s Fauci opened.

“A lot of people had questions, such as: What does that mean? What the hell are you talking about? Is this a trap?” McKinnon’s Fauci said. “To clear things up, I found a few doctors at the CDC who minored in theater, and I asked them to re-enact various scenarios in order to demonstrate correct mask behavior.”

Scenarios for proper mask wearing completely devolve in the latest

The first scene, “man walks into a bar,” unfolds as a woman welcomes a masked man into a bar, and the man asks if he needs to remain masked indoors.

“You actually do not,” the woman responds, and the man proceeds to take off the mask. “Well, as long as you’re vaccinated,” the woman continues.

The man says he’s not vaccinated, and the woman tells him that’s “bad.”

“Well,” he says, “I’m entering a bar at 11 a.m., did you really think I was vaxxed because that’s on you.”

“You’re right. I deserve Covid,” she says.

“I, I dunno if that’s the right takeaway,” McKinnon’s Fauci responds.

McKinnon’s Fauci then emphasized that people must be honest and respectful about their vaccination status.

Other how-to scenes that go wrong include a businessman on an airplane requesting another alcoholic drink from a flight attendant, two people dining outside on a first date, and two subway passengers, with all the scenes eventually devolving into wildly incorrect behavior.

In terms of frontline workers, another scene showed a customer walking into a store, and a clerk telling them to wear a mask.

“But I don’t need a mask. I’m gay,” the customer says.

“And I’m an ally. Come on in. The first hot dog is on me,” the clerk replies.

McKinnon’s Fauci then says, “No, that’s not how this works!”

Saturday’s episode was hosted by actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key, with musical guest Olivia Rodrigo.
