Vibe.com quoted the rapper’s detailing of his time at Chicago’s Northwestern Hospital:

“I was really down bad for the last month and a half that I was in there,” he explained. “I don’t even remember the day I went in there that’s how messed up I was.”

Jeremih spoke about how he suffered from multi-system inflammatory syndrome, where his kidneys, liver and heart began failing to function. He then described how his recovery was a path of re-learning:

“Once I was removed from ICU after that week and a half I was going through recovery where I had to learn how to walk again, eat, all that stuff.”

The 33-year-old R&B artist also added that he doesn’t remember anything from being in the Intensive Care Unit:

“I had a tube down my throat for about a week and a half. I was really like in a dream, I woke up two times and all I remember seeing is a white light.”

Jeremih’s overall attitude seemed to be that he acknowledged the severity of the virus and that he was grateful to have recovered from it.
