Nigerian singer, songwriter and author, Olawale Ashimi better known as Brymo, recently got into it with some followers on Twitter.

Following the unrest and reports of casualties across the country due to the ongoing #EndSARS protest, the singer took to Twitter to share a message about Nigeria being great again.

A follower on the app seized the opportunity to remind him of the fact that he remained silent during the protest and urged him to maintain the same energy.

The tweep wrote:

“You stayed quiet when we needed all the voices…Remain that way”

The singer did not put up a fight as he obliged him.

Another tweep proceeded to ask the singer his reasons for not speaking out like other celebrities. Brymo who is known for eccentric music replied saying that this was because people truly didn’t care.

He wrote:

“Cos most don’t truly care…. everyone is Just tryin to eat. I care, I have for years, no one wants to join me in the campaign for “building the nation we want to see””… everyone wants to blame someone else… and I had been talking for a minute.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian reality show star and actress, Gifty Powers, recently shared her thoughts about the EndSARS protest and showed that she was not too pleased by it.

Despite this being an unpopular opinion, especially coming from a celebrity, Gifty gave reasons for her stance.

The BBNaija star mocked the protesters who were now staying at home seeing that things had gone south. She asked why they didn’t go out to keep protesting.
