Severe weather hits Cincinnati Friday causing damage; heavy rain expected overnight into morning

PHOTOS ANYTIME AND WE WILL GET THEM EITHER ON THE WEITBSE OR ON ERR.RO DR. CHIEF METEOROLOGIST KEVIN ROBINSON NOW, HE HAS SAID IT COULD BE LOUD THROUGH THE NIGHT, TURN ON THOSE BOX FANS, PUT THOSE EAR PLUGS IN BECAUSE IT MIGHT BE DIFFICULT TO SLEEP. KEN:VI THEY’RE STILL GOING TO BE LOUD BOOMS OF THUNDER THROUGHOUT THEIG NHT OFF AND ON, SO DON’T GET STARTLED. BUT BY FAR AND AW,AY THE WORST OF THE WEATHERS I THROUGH THE NIGHT TONIG,HT THE MOST DANGEROUS IS REALLY PAST. WE WERE TRACKING A BIG CLUSTER OF STORMS DIVING TO THE SOUTH AND EAST OF CYNTHIANA — CINCINNATI, SOME COMMUNITIES STILL DIDN’T — DEANGLI WITH LINGERING RAIN AND THEN WE HAVE THE SRMTO RIGHT HERE IN THE SOUTHEASTERN PARTS OF BUTLER AND WARREN COUNTIES. IT DSOE INCLUDEHE T WARNING, THE WARNING INCLUDES RTSPA OF HAMILTON AND CLERMONT COUNTIES BUT THIS IS A SMALL STORM AND HONESTLY I THINK IT IS BARELY REGISTERING ON THE SEVERE SCALE. ALL WE ARE SEEING RIGHT OUT OUR PEA-SIZED TAIL — HAIL NEAR BARRETT ROAD, MOVING IONT MAS,ON DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, THIS PINK AND MAGENTA SHADING IS THE REASON FOR THEEV SERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING, NOT THE WIND BUT THE POTENTIAL FOR A LITTLE HLAI, IT IS CRANKING OUT THE LIGHTNING RIGHT NOW. IF YOU ARE TOWARD HERITAGE ALL OF OUR, THE CITY OF MASON, HAMILTON, ANYWHERE IN ETH WEST CHESTER AREA, TAYLORSVILLE ROAD COMMUNITY, YOU CLDOU HAVE PEA- TO NICKEL-SIZED HAIL, I WOULD BE SURPRISED IF YOU S AAWNYTHING LARGER. THAT IS THE REASON FOR THE WARNING, A LITTLE BIT OF HAIL WE CA N DEAL WITH AS LONG AS IT IS NOT TORNADOES AND STRAIGHT-LINE WIND, I THINK WE ARE DONE WITH MOST OF THAT. TO THE SOUTH ACRSOS KENTUCKY, SOME DOWNPOURS LEFT OVER HERE, A LITTLE HEAVIER NREA SPARTA TBU LOOK AT THE ACTION THAT HAS FLARED UP ACROSS INDIANA. THIS IS WHAT WE ARE KEEPG INAN ION. THIS DAYS TO OUR SOUTH AND WEST OF THE NIGHT, AND FORTUNATELY SO BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO RESULT IN SOME SIGNIFINTCA LETTING ACTORS CENTRAL INDIANA. HOWERVE, THERE IS ENERGY RIDING ALONG THIS STORM TRACK AND IF YOU NOTICE, BACK TOWARD INDIANAPOLIS YOU DO HAVE POCKETS OF DOWNPOURS, SOME THUNDER AND LIGHTNG.IN THAT CONTINUES THROUGH THE NIGHT AND COULD KEEP YOU UP WITH OCCASIONAL LOUD BOOMS OF THUNDER. WE HAVE GOT THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 3:00 IN THE MORNING BUT I FEEL FAIRLY CONFIDTEN IN SAYING THE BULK OF SEVERE WTHEREA IS OVER, CERTAINLY THE MOST DANGEROUS WEATHER I BELIEVE HAS PASSED US FOR THIS PARTICULAR ROUND WITH THE SYSTEM. HEAVY RAINS I OVERNIGHT, THE SEVERE THREAT GOES DOWN, THE HEAVY RAIN POTENTIAL GOES UP AS WE COULD HAVE SLOW-MOVING DOWNPOURS. MANY AREAS HAVE ALREADY PICKED UP ONE OR TWO INCHES OF RAIN. HERE’S A LOOK AT FUTURECAST, THROUGH THE MID MORNING HOURS NOTICE HOW IT WANTS TO REDEVEPLO SOME ACTIVITY. BASED ON WHAT I AM SEEING HAPPENING NOW, THIS LINE SHOULD BE SHIFTED A LITTLE FARTHER TO THE WEST. TO ACCOUNT FOR THAT, WE WILL KEEP THE THREAT FOR DOWNPOURS AND THERE IS STILL A HEAVY RAIN THREAT TO THE NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING THERE IS STILL POTENTIAL RFO MORE HEAVY RAIN AROUND THE AREA. PROBABLY N AOT LOT OF SEVERE WEATHER, MAYBE SOME 40 OR 50 LEMI AN HOUR WIND GUSTS WITH HEAVIER DOWNPOURS OVERNIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING, BUT THE SIGNIFICANT WIND THREAT IS PASSED UATS THIS POINT. RAIN THROUGH LUNCHTIME AND I STL ILTHINK IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING WE START TO DRY OUT. I WON’T RULE OUT THE CHANCE FOR MAYBE A FLAREUP DOWNPOUR TOMORROW AFTERNOON, BUT OVERALL IT LOOKS DRIER OENC WE MAKE IT PAST TOMORROW MORNING, SATURDAY EVENING AND NIGHT, SUNDAY THERE WILL BE A FEW DOWNPOURS, HIT AND MISS FOR FATHER’S DAY. I THINK THE WORST OF THE WEATHER FOR THIS EVENING — WEEKEND WAS TONIGHT AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING. 70 AT THE AIRPORT, ALMOST AN INCH OFAI RN FELL FROM DOWNPOURS EARLIER. TEMPERATURES HAVE COLD INTOHE T 70’S AND 60’S AND THAT IS PART OF THE REASON I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT ADDITIONAL SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER OVERNIGHT. THERE COULD BE A WARNING HERE THEY’RE LIKE WE HAVE NOW FOR THE SMALL HAIL IN WEST CHESTER. A MUGGY NIGHT, STILL NOISY WITH MORE THUNDER, TOMOOWRR EARLY STORMS AND THERE MAY BE A FEW POP-UP STORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. THE WETTEST PART OF YOUR SATURDAY, THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY, IT STARTS TO DRY UP AFTER LUNCHTIME. HERE IS URYO SEVEN-DAYOR FECAST, STILL MUGGY THROUGH THE WEEKEND ON A LOOK AT DAD’S DAY, STEVIE WITH HIGHS NEAR 90, A BETTER CHANCE FOR MORE WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND STORMS IN HERE
