A video showing Nigerian footballer Chikelu Ofoedu confront a man clad in Nigerian military uniform is currently making the rounds on social media.

The Maccabi Tel Aviv star raged as he questioned why the officer slapped him, claiming despite that he took ‘one-way’.

It then went into a chaotic scene as the soldier then dashed into car and returned with a machete as the footballer bravely moved closer charging “kill me”.

A female military officer then tried to call her colleague to order as she tried to hold him back, but he dismissed her calls and continued with the threats.

Furious Ofoedu blocked the officer’s car with his Mercedes Benz G-Wagon claiming no one would leave the scene as he continued to question why he was slapped.

Someone who appeared to be friend of Chikelu was also seen asking the officer why he slapped the footballer and the soldier threatened him as well.

And despite other soldiers pleas with their man, the threat continued while the player, on the other hand, refused to let the soldier drive off.

Buratai noted that the recruits should be ready to serve their country anywhere they are deployed as a soldier.

He made the disclosure at Falgore forest training camp during the final screening for 80 regular recruits in Kano state.

The army boss went on to note that the military will uphold thoroughness in its recruitment processes to ensure that only qualified persons are enlisted.

The verdict was given on Tuesday, January 12, by a court-martial sitting in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

The military court found Maduabuchi guilty of shooting the adjutant of his unit, one Lieutenant Babakaka Ngorgi, in July 2020 at close range in Bama local government of Borno.

The soldier was said to have shot his superior for refusing to grant him a welfare pass.
