Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has told the Lagos State
Physical Planning Permit Agency and Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) to scale up its activities and do a better job in physical planning approvals.
The governor also said state land and property permit approving agencies must live above board, saying his administration would no longer tolerate officers engaging in sharp practices in giving approvals.
Sanwo-Olu spoke at the first Lagos Real Estate market place conference and exhibition themed ‘Unearthing real opportunities in real estate, making Lagos a 21st century economy.’
He disclosed further that beginning from first quarter of next year,all land related transactions in Lagos State will be undertaken online.
The plan, the governor said, is to further accelerate the process of getting approvals on land matters and create an enduring business-driven property development market in the state.
The governor stated that residents and real estate practitioners are complaining about turnaround time for permit approval.
He therefore said the ministry of physical planning and agencies under it like the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Agency and Lagos
State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) to sit up.
Sanwo-Olu noted that the agencies need to be up and doing especially as the real estate sector has the capacity to redefine the GDP of the country, with Lagos not an exception.
