Roma and Liverpool are intensifying negotiations for Dejan Lovren, it’s reported, on loan with option to buy for €18-20m.
The 30-year-old centre-back had already been linked with Milan this summer, but the Giallorossi are in dire need of a defender after Kostas Manolas moved to Napoli.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Nicolò Schira, Roma director Gianluca Petrachi met with Lovren’s agents today.
The offer on the table is a loan at €2m with option to buy at the end of the season for another €16m.
That option would become an obligation if the 30-year-old Croatian racked up a certain number of competitive appearances.
Liverpool’s asking price is €20m, but if they are open to the loan with option, then it is certainly negotiable.
Lovren has been in England since 2013 at Southampton and then Liverpool a year later.
