As the Golden State Warriors head into a crucial offseason, Steve Kerr is slated to make some changes to his coaching staff.

In an interview with The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami, the Golden State head coach said the Warriors staff needed a “little jolt” after several years with the same group. The first change to Kerr staff came when longtime assistant and defensive coordinator Jaron Collins recently parted ways with the Warriors to pursue new opportunities.

With coaches set to leave the Bay Area, the Warriors are beginning to make additions to Kerr’s staff. According to Connor Letourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle, Dejan Milojevic is likely to join Golden State’s staff. Milojevic recently served as the head coach of KK Buducnost in the Adriatic League out of Montenegro.

Prior to coaching KK Buducnost, Milojevic served as the lead coach for KK Mega Basket in Belgrade, Serbia. Milojevic spent eight seasons with KK Mega Basket. For three seasons, Milojevic coached 2020-21 Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic. Milojevic is often credited with helping Jokic develop prior to being drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft.

It’s still unclear what role Milojevic will serve with the Warriors, but with his experience working with Jokic, Milojevic will likely help oversee the development of 2020 No. 2 overall draft pick James Wiseman. The 20-year-old is coming off an up-and-down first season in the NBA that was cut short due to injury.
