Cagliari have reportedly jumped ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt for Napoli midfielder Marko Rog.
Gazzetta dello Sport only claimed yesterday that Rog was on his way to Eintracht for €20m.
However, according to transfer expert Niccolo Ceccarini, Cagliari are close to completing an €18m deal.
The Croat would effectively replace Nicolo Barella, who has joined Inter.
It comes after Gianluca Di Marzio reported talks between the Sardinians and Boca Juniors over Nahitan Nandez on Tuesday proved fruitless.
As per the Sky Sport journalist, an offer of €15m was rejected by Boca as 30 percent of Nandez’s playing rights are owned by Penarol, thereby entitling them to a cut of any transfer fee.
