Authored or co-authored three books on the Redskins and one on the Cleveland BrownsASHBURN, Va. — The Washington Redskins have once again changed quarterbacks, returning to Case Keenum — but while also keeping an eye on the future with rookie Dwayne Haskins.Interim coach Bill Callahan opted for Keenum over last week’s starter, Colt McCoy. Callahan said McCoy remained healthy enough to play, but he won’t be active Sunday. Instead, Haskins will remain the No. 2 quarterback as he’s been for the first five games.The 0-5 Redskins play at the 0-4 Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Washington hasn’t started 0-6 since 1961.Last week, McCoy started in a 33-7 loss to the New England Patriots, throwing for 122 yards and one interception while being sacked six times. It was his first action since suffering a broken leg Dec. 3, 2018.Keenum had started the first four games, but was pulled from a Week 4 loss because of a sprained right foot that kept him out last week.In his first three and a half games, Keenum completed 68.1% of his passes for 970 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions. He turned the ball over five times in his last two starts.The decision was actually made earlier in the week, as a source said the other quarterbacks knew about the decision Wednesday. Callahan waited to announce the move until Friday because he said he wanted to make sure Keenum, a team captain, was healthy.”A no-brainer as far as we’re concerned,” Callahan said.It’s the first time all three quarterbacks were relatively healthy and able to play.Keeping Haskins as the No. 2 was a nod toward his future. He relieved Keenum in the Week 4 loss at the New York Giants. In two-plus quarters, Haskins completed 9 of 17 passes for 108 yards and three interceptions.”Dwayne being the future of this franchise, it’s always invaluable that a quarterback is always ready, prepared,” Callahan said. “It heightens his awareness. We have a package of plays for him going into this game. That will allow us to focus on bringing him along and groom him.”
