Jada Pinkett, Will Smith and August Alsina
Yesterday, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith admitted that she had a relationship with singer August Alsina while she and her husband Will Smith were going through a “difficult time”.
In an interview with radio host Angela Yee, Alsina had revealed that he and Jada had an affair with Will Smith’s blessing.
In the interview, the Nawlins native stated,
“I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be OK with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.”
There are have been rumours that both Pinkett and Smith have an open marriage for years and Alsina’s claims seemed to further buttress the rumours.
Addressing Alsina’s claim on her Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk, Jada sat with Smith and the couple revealed they have purposely not said anything in the media.
Referring to the issue as a private one, Jada admitted the relationship happened but clarified that she and Will actually “broke up.”
To this, Smith added that they decided that they were going to separate for “a period of time”.
Jada also referred to the episode with Alsina as an “entanglement.” She said:
“From there as time went on I got into a different kind of entanglement with August. One thing I want to clean up… about you giving ‘permission’ which is… the only person that can give permission in that circumstance is myself.”
