A Nigerian man has said that what many people need are financial partners and not mentors.
The man, Bayo Adeyinka, a career coach made this statement in reaction to a series of encounters he had with Nigerians who came under the guise of requesting him for mentorship to trick him into giving them money.
In two separate encounters he shared on Twitter, involving a guy and lady, the financial and leadership enthusiast was left disappointed.

According to the first experience he relayed, he said a young man and approached him to be mentored to which he gave consent. Surprisngly, the young man made financial demands moments after he had requested for mentorship and on this one he declined.
The following day he had sent the new mentee some personal development materials but did not hear from him again.
In another similar encounter a female friend had approached him seeking to be his mentee and against his principle of not accepting ladies as his students he had consented.
She would return to try to fleece him into giving her money for a supposed emergency trip the same day he agreed to be her mentor. He refused giving her money. The resultant reaction from her is making negative comments on his posts on social media.
He said:
“I became friends here with a lady. I would later meet her at an event in Abuja. She eulogized me and told me she would love me to mentor her. I told her I don’t mentor ladies as a matter of principle. She requested for my personal contact details so she could stay in touch.
“I obliged. By the time we concluded the event, she came back to meet me and gave me a funny story about an emergency trip she had to make. Long story short, she asked for money. I declined. I was shocked at her audacity. Thereafter, I noticed her negative remarks on my posts.
“I didn’t waste my block button. What many need are financial partners and not mentors. A mentor is not a meal ticket. A mentor has his own challenges and responsibilities too. A mentor cannot help everyone.”
His post had got many tweeps talking.

“I was trained to honor mentors, to give them gifts if you can.
“I’m surprised people turn to their “mentors” for financial assistance. Who does that?”

“This is the first time I would hear of such cause I never even thought anybody would be that foolish, Of all the wealth of things to gather it’s money that’s next ?”

“Mentor-Mentee relationship must be mutual. A random person cannot walk up to one and plead to be mentored. You must have had relationship with him(a man should never mentor a lady) for a period of time prior to accepting the request.”

Meanwhile, Bioreports had earlier reported how a man said he cannot date a woman who doesn’t fear him.
According to the man identified as Prophet Mufasa, he stated that his woman must have to fear him to some extent.
Explaining further, he stated that she needs to know that her life may come to an end if she wrongs him.
