Alberta RCMP have issued an Amber Alert for a 14-month-old boy believed to have been abducted by his father, a man police say is armed and dangerous. RCMP say Waylon Armstrong, 14 months, was abducted from his home in Brule, Alta., by his father, Cody Armstrong. (Alberta RCMP)Alberta RCMP have issued an Amber Alert for a 14-month-old boy believed to have been abducted by his father, a man police say is armed and dangerous.  Waylon Armstrong was abducted from his mother’s home around 2:30 a.m. MT in the western Alberta hamlet of Brule, RCMP said in an alert issued around 3:30 a.m. Friday. The boy’s father, 41-year-old Cody Armstrong, was armed when he drove away with the boy, Cpl. Laurel Scott told CBC News in an interview Friday.  “The dad, Cody, was seen leaving the residence with a rifle,” Scott said. “And so we want to make sure the public understands that he is considered armed and dangerous right now.”  RCMP said the toddler has blond hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a onesie with moose prints on it. The boy’s father was described as five-foot-nine, 170 pounds with blond hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a grey shirt with Stanfield’s long johns. Police said the two were last seen leaving a home in Brule, in a 2002 medium green GMC Sierra pickup truck with Alberta licence plate BSF-3524. Brule is 20 kilometres west of Hinton and about 315 kilometres west of Edmonton. “Unfortunately, the child, the little boy Waylon, has not been located yet,” Scott told CBC News around 9:30 a.m. “We’ve got lots of police resources involved in this and we’re looking for any tips. If anyone sees this little boy with this dad, they’re asked to call. Scott said several tips had already been received but couldn’t comment on the details or say whether any had been substantiated. “We want to act and we need to act on it very quickly.”  A spokesperson for Hinton RCMP told CBC News the front licence plate of the truck has a decorative cover that reads YCFD (Yellowhead County Fire Department), but the father is not a member of the fire department. The boy’s mother was in the house when the alleged abduction took place, but the woman and the rest of the family are safe, RCMP said.     Investigators are asking anyone who sees the truck or Cody Armstrong to call police immediately and not approach the vehicle.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Hinton RCMP at 780-865-5544.
