‘He’s just knocking things out of the park and people can’t stand it’: Question Time audience member is cheered as he praises Boris Johnson for doing a ‘brilliant’ job by getting a new EU Brexit dealAudience member says Johnson is ‘pushing forward’ and proving critics wrongA tweet showing his comments gets 3,000 likes in less than 12 hoursBut some accuse the BBC of editing the clip to remove less popular viewsAre you the man or do you know him? Email richard.spillett@mailonline.co.uk By Richard Spillett for MailOnline Published: 04:03 EDT, 18 October 2019 | Updated: 07:47 EDT, 18 October 2019 A Question Time audience member sparked a huge response after he said Boris Johnson is ‘knocking things out of the park’.The man, who appeared when the flagship BBC show broadcast from Leicester last night, said he supported the Prime Minister and felt he was doing a good job.He said: ‘I’d just like to say something that I thought would never leave my mouth; I think Boris Johnson’s done a brilliant job with going over there.’Everyone said ‘he won’t do that, he can’t do that’, but he’s actually proven everybody wrong and, from my perspective, it seems to me that he’s knocking things out of the park and people just can’t stand it.’That’s really got people like myself more interested, like, oh, actually, this guy wants to do it for the people. He’s really pushing forward.’This Question Time audience member sparked a huge reaction last night when he claimed Boris Johnson was ‘knocking things out of the park and people just can’t stand it’By midday, a clip of those comments which was posted on the BBC’s Question Time Twitter feed had got nearly 5,000 likes and more than 800 retweets. Some of those who watched commented ‘spot on mate’ and ‘well said that man’.Twitter user Mark Hussell posted: ‘Absolutely correct. There are massive amounts of bitterness and jealousy involved.’But some were less impressed by other comments on Ireland which the man went on to make on the show, which were not included in the BBC’s tweet. He said he was tired of the conversation about Brexit revolving solely around arrangements in Northern Ireland, and suggested that maybe the solution was to have ‘an island of Ireland’. His comments were cheered by some in the audience, but others shook their heads Last night’s panel included (left to right) Barnardo’s chief executive Javed Khan, SNP Health Spokesperson Philippa Whitford, Health Secretary Matt Hancock, Shadow Treasury Minister Anneliese Dodds and MEP for the Brexit Party Martin DaubneyNone of those on the Question Time panel took the time to explain whether or why they were opposed to a united Ireland. SNP MP Philippa Whitford responded with comments about the SNP’s proposed Brexit. A clip of the man’s comments on Twitter quickly collected 3,000 likes, with some of those responding praising his comments But others were less impressed and accused of BBC of carefully editing a clip on TwitterThe man’s comments were not the only pro-Boris comments by audience members.Another woman suggested it was ‘time to get Brexit done’, while another man said MPs were ‘out of tune’ with the public by failing to vote through. The second man said: ‘Here we are after three and a half years and we’re at the same place we were a few years back.’There’s been no progress. You are utterly out of tune with the rest of the public here.  ‘You do not represent us, what we voted you in for. It’s a crying shame that we’re at this avenue right here, right now.’You better negotiate on Saturday because it concerns our futures, our children’s futures. This is something that you ought to hang your heads in shame if you get it wrong.’Another woman hit out at the Tory Government, telling Health Secretary Matt Hancock that people had stopped believing ministers and thought their claims they would suddenly increase public spending after Brexit were lies. Are you the man or do you know him? Call 0203 615 2676 or email richard.spillett@mailonline.co.uk
