Probable line-ups: Greece v Italy

Ciro Immobile might not even be on the bench when Italy visit Greece this evening, as Fabio Quagliarella or Andrea Belotti complete the trident attack.

The Euro 2020 qualifier kicks off in Athens at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

This is the toughest test yet of Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri after they swept Finland and Liechtenstein aside.

Greece are second in the group, having beaten Liechtenstein and held Bosnia-Herzegovina to a 2-2 away draw.

Their strengths lie in defence, with Roma’s Kostas Manolas and Arsenal man Sokratis Papastathopoulos joined by Dimitris Siovas in a 3-4-1-2 formation.

Kostas Fortounis should take the trequartista role behind the strikers, although there is some uncertainty upfront.

Options include Anastasios Donis, Kostas Mitroglou, Efthymis Koulouris and even Giorgos Masouras.

Italy have to do without Gianluigi Donnarumma and Cristiano Biraghi, while the Fiorentina full-back is likely to miss Tuesday’s clash with Bosnia too after spraining his knee in training.

Salvatore Sirigu of Torino therefore takes the gloves, with Emerson Palmieri and Alessandro Florenzi in defence.

The only doubts here again are in attack, where Federico Chiesa and Federico Bernardeschi seem certain of their places, but the centre-forward role is up for grabs.

Capocannoniere Quagliarella is the favourite, although Andrea Belotti and Moise Kean could sneak in, with Leonardo Pavoletti kept in reserve as a substitute.

It means Lazio striker Ciro Immobile might not even be on the bench this evening in Athens.
