Primark launches click and collect in stores today

Fashion giant Primark has launched their click-and-collect service and it has gone live in 25 different stores today.

Customers will now be able to browse the website with 2,000 products to choose from and select to pick them up from a store of their choice for the first time.

It has been noted that shoppers will need to make a minimum purchase of £15 to use click and collect but there is no extra charge for the service.

Currently, this option to click and collect only applies to products including kids’ toys, clothing and nursery ranges across the North West of England, Yorkshire and North Wales.

You are only able to buy womenswear, menswear and homeware in store for the time being.

Kari Rodgers, Primark UK retail director, said: “We’re thrilled that customers across North West England, parts of Yorkshire and North Wales, will soon be the first in the country to get the chance to try out our new Click + Collect offer.

“From launch, they’ll be able to browse and buy from our extensive range of kids clothing and nursery products, from the comfort of their own home, before coming to collect from one of our chosen 25 stores.”

However, the new service crashed shortly after its launch, with some shoppers struggling to access its website.

Speaking of the website crashing, a spokesperson for Primark said: “It’s been great to see so much interest in the launch of our new Click + Collect trial.

“We’re aware that some people have had issues accessing the website this morning and we’re working hard to address this to ensure that everyone can access and browse the site easily.”

The brand is loved for its wallet-friendly deals, hence fans taking to Twitter to express their delight over Primark offering click and collect.

“Primark click and collect is probably the best news this year for every female,” one wrote.

“Primark moving to click and collect is interesting,” a social media user wrote.

Another shared: “@Primark when is the website going to work for click and collect? I have Christmas shopping to do.”

One similarly said: “Wanted to have a go on the Primark click and collect but computer says no.”
