Police launch operation to rescue five kidnapped persons in Abuja

The Police Command of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has deployed “a heavy detachment of personnel and equipment” to rescue the five persons kidnapped in the early hours of Wednesday in a village along Pegi axis.

This was contained in a statement by Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yusuf Mariam.

Mariam said the Commissioner of Police FCT CP. Bala Ciroma has ordered a manhunt to trail and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

“The Command urges members of the public to remain calm, while it intensifies effort to liberate the victims unhurt and reunite them with their family members.

“While enjoining residents to be security conscious and promptly report all suspicious movements, the Command wishes to reiterate its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property in the Federal Capital Territory,” the statement read.
