Ex-Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has denied ever promising Nicolas Nkoulou a summer transfer.
Nkoulou claimed Toro had broken their promise with regards to a move away, while club patron Urbano Cairo suggested it had been made with Petrachi.
The transfer chief, who is now employed by Roma, responded to the claims by issuing a firm rebuttal.
“Regarding today’s statements from President Cairo, I’d like to point out I never promised Nkoulou or his agent Maxim Nana a transfer this year,” he told ANSA.
“Cairo knows perfectly well how things went and so do the parties in question, given the player’s statements.
“I hope I’m no longer drawn to any issues involving Torino, to whom I wish the best for the rest of the season.”
