This is the heroic moment a Tube passenger stands up to a drunken man who was allegedly abusing a boy.

A cacophony of applause reportedly erupted inside the London Underground carriage yesterday following the brave bystander’s blistering slap-down of the boozed-up passenger.

Video footage shows the broad-shouldered witness leaping to the defence of the young man who was seen rowing with the ranting older passenger.

The older drunken man, dressed in shorts and a white t-shirt, rows with a younger passenger who brands him a racist

The man who stepped in said: ‘You need to shut up, you’ve been disturbing this boy for a long time and we’re all getting f**** off with you.

‘You’re drunk. Leave him alone, alright? You’re clearly f***ing racist. Leave him alone!’

He adds: ‘We’re all sitting there calm, and someone has to say something to you because you’re ridiculous.’

Lex Blondin, who filmed the dramatic confrontation, shared the clip to social media and wrote that at the next stop, the man was thrown off the train.

On Instagram, the music curator posted: ‘He got taken out of the Tube at the next stop as well and massive applause ensued.

‘I wish I could have done exactly that but I don’t have quite the shoulders for it.’

His footage shows the older man, dressed in shorts and a white t-shirt, engaged in a heated dispute with the younger passenger, who is out of shot.

The young passenger asks the drunken man ‘what’s the point of being racist?’, to which the intoxicated man replies: ‘I’m a racist because you’re stupid’

The young man protests that he had just been quietly minding his own business and had not done anything to warrant the alleged abuse.

But the older man then appears to say: ‘You are doing something, you’re a citizen here for some reason.’

At this point the heroic witnesses gets up and launches a stinging attack on the passenger and threatens to haul him off the train.

He accuses him of picking on the young boy, whose age is unknown, and suggests that if he wanted a real fight he should ‘go outside’.
