The Buccaneers manager is now setting his sights on securing a victory over Abafana Bes’thende

Following their 1-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs last weekend, Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer is already targeting three points against Golden Arrows.

The Buccaneers are away from home next weekend and the German manager is looking to bounce back at the expense of Abafana Be’sthende.

Having suffered his first loss in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) against the log leaders, the 49-year-old tactician wants a victory over Steve Komphela’s troops to restore confidence in his camp.

“Our next game is very important. We have to fight and ensure we stabilize the team,” Zinnabuer told the media as quoted by Isolezwe.

“We need three points in our next game. We need the points just like we needed them in the Soweto Derby.

“We have a massive job in our next game to ensure we restore our confidence.

“However, we don’t have to make major changes in the team but we have depth and many players who deserve a chance.”

Although the German manager was in charge of his first Soweto Derby against their fierce rivals, he has a good start in his tenure as a Pirates coach.

The 49-year-old has led the 2018/19 PSL runners-up to six consecutive wins in the league and will look to restore their fine run as far as their PSL title challenge is concerned.

Although many are led to believe the 1995 African champions are out of the PSL title race, the Ghost occupies the third spot with 39 points from 22 games but will fight to win their remaining games and hope Amakhosi drop points.

With reigning PSL champions, Mamelodi Sundowns hosting Al Ahly in the Caf Champions next weekend, Pirates will target a win to overtake the Tshwane giants as they are chasing their first league crown since lifting it back in the 2011/12 season.
