The Azzurri are seeking a better performance than the struggle to break down 10-man Armenia on Thursday, eventually winning 3-1.

“Finland are doing admirably, are a completely different team compared to Armenia and their fitness levels are better, having already started their season some time ago,” the team manager told Rai Sport.

“It won’t be easy, because as all the Nordic teams on home turf, they will start very defensive. They know a large chunk of their qualification will be decided tonight and we need to start with a very different attitude to the one seen in Armenia.”

Oriali was asked about the accusations from Armenian forward Aleksandre Karapetyan that Leonardo Bonucci got him sent off by feigning contact with his face.

“On the bench, it seemed to me the correct decision to give a second yellow card, as the intention appeared evident. We certainly didn’t lose sleep over it.”
