Diego Maradona’s sudden demise remains a monumental loss to his country people, Argentina, and the world at large.

The FIFA World Cup winner was confirmed dead yesterday, November 25, about 13 days after leaving the hospital having undergone brain surgery.

Maradona was said to have undergone an operation earlier this month to remove a blood clot in his brain – a process that went without complications.

However, the world was stunned as his death was announced on Wednesday, November 25, and the news has sent the Argentines into mourning.

Pictures show mixed reactions to the death of the former Barcelona and Napoli legend as some were seen shedding tears, a few were sobbing and others celebrating the legend’s legacy.

Almost everyone had something worn to pay lasting respect to the god of soccer in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.

Maradona played in four FIFA World Cups and led them to triumph in the 1986 edition of the competition but since then have not had the chance to lift the title.

Lionel Messi made attempt in 2014 as they got to the final but were beaten by Germany by a Mario Gotze extra-time goal in Brazil.

Meanwhile, tributes from across the globe have been trooping in with top football superstars and legends sending their condolences.

Legit.ng earlier reported Diego Maradona’s death has thrown the entire football world into mourning as the legend was reported dead on Wednesday, November 25.

The 1986 FIFA World Cup winner recently left the hospital after undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.

He however passed away about 13 days after he was discharged from the hospital when his operation was successful.

His death has not only left his family bereaved, some other people who had a personal relationship with him are also shaken by his death.
