The theme of the webinar is “The COVID-19 new normal: leveraging law and technology to promote good governance; ensure food security in a sustainable environment.”

The colloquium is in honour of the 60th birthday anniversary of Mr. John Echezona Unachukwu, (John Austin), former National Publicity Secretary of the NBA and public unveiling of John Austin Unachukwu and Associates Law and Media Centre.

The event will hold on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, by 1 pm. While Mr. Obi will present the Keynote Address, the Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Lanre Fagbohun (SAN) would be the 6th speaker.

Chief host would be the pioneer chairman of the NBA Section on Public Interest and Development Law (SPIDEL), Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama (SAN), while the former Director-General, Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS), Prof. Epiphany Azinge (SAN), Chief Sebastine Hon (SAN), Chief Arthur Obi-Okafor  (SAN), among others would host the event.

In a similar development, Nigeria’s full-service commercial law firm, Aelex will discuss how the country can best address its fast-growing population at its 14th annual lecture.

“As Nigeria’s population continues to grow by an average of 2.6 per cent annually, this raises the question of whether Nigeria’s population is a ticking time bomb.

“The answer to this question and how we can best harness our population will be addressed in the 14th edition of ÆLEX Annual Lecture themed: Illiteracy, Migration and Security: Nigeria’s Population Time Bomb,” the firm said in a statement.

The event would be a virtual session featuring Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission; seasoned journalist, politician and former member of the House of Representatives, Mr Mohammed Yahya; Resident Representative, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Mrs Nyma Akashat-Zibiri, lawyer and co-host of TVC’s “Your View”.

“The forum provides the opportunity of shedding light on a pertinent national issue while also providing recommendations and suggestions to tackle it accordingly. With a distinguished speaker line-up, the lecture promises to be both insightful and thought-provoking,” the firm declared.
