Nigerian star Moses Simon opened his goal for the new season after inspiring Nantes to a dramatic 2-2 comeback against Saint-Etienne at Stade de la Beaujoire.

The 25-year-old father of two fired home from close-range after benefiting from a Dennis Appiah’s cross from the right flank.

His goal helped the hosts reduce their deficit in the 71st minute before Renaud Emond leveled parity for The Canaries five minutes before full time.

Christian Gourcuff’s men started the game on a poor note, conceding two goals in the first 66 minutes of the meeting with Adil Aouchiche and Yvann Macon scoring for the visitors.

The Saints opened scoring barely two minutes into the encounter and then doubled their lead in the 66th minute.

But Moses, who recently sealed a permanent move to the club having spent one season on loan with them stepped up and inspired them to salvage a point at the end of the game.

Last campaign, he scored nine goals and eight assists before the league was abruptly ended due to the outbreak of coronavirus in March.

Hr ended up scooping the club’s award for the best player of the season beating several nominees for the prestigious prize.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has stated emphatically that he is looking forward to the day his club will be facing Cristiano Ronaldo and his Juventus teammates.

The 21-year-old made a big move to Napoli from Lille in June this year and the Nigerian has been shining in pre-season games for the Italian side.
