A Nigerian pastor, Ifeanyi Uwakwe, was seen celebrating Chelsea’s Champions League victory inside his church on Sunday, May 30.

Chelsea managed a 1-0 win over Manchester City in the final of the competition at the Estadio do Dragao to emerge Champions League winners for a second time.

The only goal of the encounter came in the 42nd minute when Kai Havertz found the back of the net having rounded the goalkeeper to the delight of Chelsea fans across the globe.

In celebration of the victory, the Owerri based ‘Truelight Ministries’ headed by Pastor Uwakwe organised a thanksgiving service for the feat.

Several members of his congregation were clad in Blue colours while the pastor himself raised a Chelsea branded flag as they rejoiced.

It is Chelsea’s second time winning the competition, having won it in 2012 under the tutelage of Roberto di Matteo, led by striker Didier Drogba.

A fan then wrote:

“Every good thing comes from God. He did well to have acknowledged God in that case. Up Chelsea.”

Another added:

“It makes him happy….so u don’t have a say…or rather, ur opinion doesn’t matter.

“Among everything we learned, we have to learned also to respect the happiness of others, or whatever it is that causes that happiness.”

A third said:

“I personally know the man in question and I can attest that he’s a sound Christian with value for Godliness and modesty.

From what I saw, this was after the service had ended. He’s way better than the picture being painted by the poster.”

Meanwhile, thousands of Chelsea football club supporters in Ghana were seen in footage marching and singing along streets celebrating Champions League glory over Manchester City.

Chelsea, as a football team, is famous on the continent as several African footballers were, and are still, players at the club. Ghanaian legend Michael Essien played at the club for nine years scoring 17 goals in 168 league appearances for the team.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Man City’s loss to Chelsea has left a Nigerian man in tatters after placing his house worth N4.5million on Pep Guardiola’s men to defeat Chelsea.

Unfortunately, the Citizens suffered a 1-0 loss to the Blues courtesy of a goal scored by Kai Havertz two minutes before halftime.

The man was seen in footage crying following the loss of his house.
