8. The Police Command in Osun said it has arrested eight suspected members of a kidnap syndicate who relocated to hide in the state after operating in Benue. SP Yemisi Opalola, the command’s spokesperson, said in a statement on Saturday.

9. The Chairman of the Kogi Chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Wakili Damina, who was allegedly kidnapped on Tuesday, has been released. The state Secretary of the association, Mr Adamu Abubakar told newsmen in Lokoja on yesterday.

Ambassador Zubairu Dada, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs said on Saturday in Abuja that the Federal Government was committed to build and strengthen ties with Nigerians in the Diaspora to boost the nation’s economy. He spoke yesterday at the inaugural Diaspora Quarterly Lecture Series organised by the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
