Nevada Aims to Reopen Casinos June 4

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak said the state aims to reopen casinos on the Las Vegas Strip and elsewhere on June 4.

Mr. Sisolak ordered casinos to close March 17 in response to the coronavirus pandemic, effectively shutting down the tourism industry, which is responsible, directly or indirectly, for one in three jobs in the state. The closures led to widespread furloughs and layoffs. On Friday, the Labor Department said Nevada’s unemployment rate is the highest in the country at 28.2%.
