Lionel Messi reveals “I prefer to let others talk about me” compared to Cristiano Ronaldo and that Inter impressed him in the Champions League.
Messi has spent his entire career at Barcelona, whereas Ronaldo has won League titles in England, Spain and now Italy after starting his career in Portugal with Sporting CP.
“Each of us looks for experiences that we consider the best for ourselves,” the No 10 told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I’ve never felt the need to leave the best club in the world, which is Barcelona. Here I enjoy every training session, every game and the city.
“Overall, this experience is super complete and I’ve always had in mind what my objective is here without having to go looking for it elsewhere.”
The Argentine enjoys the same level of fame as the likes of CR7 and Zlatan Ibrahimovic but explained what set them apart.
“I prefer to let others talk about me. I know what I am, what I did and what I can still give, but I keep it to myself.
“I let others comment, I don’t like talking about myself, I always prefer to think about the collective.”
Barca recently battled to a 2-1 victory over Inter, so was Messi surprised by the Nerazzurri?
“No, because we’d been keeping tabs on them for a while and we knew what we were going to come up against.
“I’d seen them in the League, where they’ve started very well and are fighting on equal terms with Juventus, which is neither easy nor a given.
“We knew Conte’s team would be organised and play by heart, that they already had clear automatisms and would have created difficulties for us. And so, they did.”
