The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has lauded Governors Okezie Ikpeazu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and David Umahi of Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi states, over what it called their record breaking performances in office.

Ohanaeze said in a statement by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, its Secretary-General, that the three governors had won the heart of the people in their six years in office.

He said, “Abia Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Enugu Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Ebonyi Governor, Dave Umahi have performed creditably in office since the past 6 years.

“Ikpeazu’s wealth creation and economic rejuvenation of Aba through SME’s grants and empowerment program/Enyimba Economic city, have strategically put Abia on the world’s map.

“Ugwuanyi’s peaceful disposition and aggressive rural development repositioned Enugu on the path of greatness and prosperity, and Umahi’s infrastructural and agricultural revolution are the pillars of southeastern Nigeria.”

On the security issues facing the South-East zone, he charged the Governors to “unite and search inwardly for the lasting solutions.”

“Past decays in governance by their predecessors and political turmoil and infighting are responsible for the insecurity. However, there is hope for the Southeast Governors to quench this rebellion against Ndigbo, we are ready to help them out of this insecurity”.

The Ohanaeze scribe re-echoed his call for unconditional release of all Biafra agitators incarcerated in all prisons, stressing that “their immediate release will facilitate the return of peace in the southeast.”
