The gift of life is beautiful. It becomes even more beautiful when one is blessed with added years to celebrate. One such lucky lady is the grandma of TD Phakwe. The proud grandson took to Facebook to wish her a happy 111th birthday.
In his post he thanks his gogo for looking after both himself, his siblings, and all of their combined children.
“Help me wish my grandma a special birthday – 111 years. We are truly blessed and honoured to be raised by you with love, including our children. Not many of us will reach there,” he wrote.
Facebook users who were moved by the touching post took the time to wish the old lady a happy birthday too. Many of them acknowledged how blessed she was to see such a ripe old age. After all, you don’t get to see a 111-year-old person often.

The woman, who is from Charlotte, North Carolina, celebrated a drive-through birthday with few family members around her.
The drive-through birthday celebration on Thursday, August 13, it was learnt, was held ahead of the main day.
Born in South Carolina ahead of the First World War in 1904, she has lived in Charlotte for at least 59 years and is taken like a celebrity.
To honour her, the Mayor of Charlotte’s, Vi Lyles, has declared 15 August ‘Mother Hester Ford Day’. Funny enough, Hester is said to be confused concerning how she has managed to live so long.
