Amad Traore has emerged Manchester United transfer target after the Red Devils’ failed in their pursuit of their major target for the summer Jadon Sancho, SunSport reports.

The Red Devils were unable to meet Borussia Dortmund’s demands for the £108 million-rated Englishman forward.

With deal to secure Sancho failed, United have been linked with three big stars including Douglas Costa, Gareth Bale and Ivan Perisic as alternatives.

But latest reports say 18-year-old Amad Traore is now a prospect for United as the Atalanta starlet was part of the Champions League squad that reached the quarter-final of the last season’s Champions League.

UK Outlet Manchester Evening News are reporting that United have made a contact with the club over the player, with interests from other clubs as well.

However, the youngster only played 30 minutes of a Serie A game last season but somehow he is on the radar of several clubs.

He played excellently well in his first game as he went on to become the youngest player, at 17 years and 109 days old, to score on his league debut as Atalanta crushed Udinese 7-1.

In the Under 19 team, where he was a regular, Traore hit seven goals and 11 assists in 24 games.

Manchester City and Juventus are other clubs that are reportedly on the trail of the player as well.

The Red Devils have only completed one signing since the transfer window was flung open this summer as Donny van de Beek moved to Old Trafford from Ajax for £40 million.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is staring at a possible squad selection headache ahead of Man United’s Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.

United had a delayed start to the season following their extended engagements in the Europa League last season.

They are now due to kick off their new season with a home clash against Palace on Saturday, September 19.
