Manchester United are going back in for €15m-rated Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic after selling Romelu Lukaku to Inter.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Old Trafford club has resumed talks with Juve for the 33-year-old Croatia international.
The centre-forward had been ready to join Manchester United as part of the deal for Lukaku in a swap with Paulo Dybala.
However, Dybala turned down the move and that scuppered the Mandzukic element too.
Now that Lukaku is on his way to Inter for a medical tomorrow, with terms agreed for €65m plus €10m bonuses and a five per cent cut of a future fee, Manchester United need a replacement.
Gianluca Di Marzio claims this evening that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has set his sights on Mandzukic and a deal could be done before the Premier League deadline on Thursday at 17.00 UK time.
The former Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid star had already worked out personal terms, while Juve’s €15m asking price remains intact.
