Roberto Mancini has been added to the list of managers that could get one of the toughest jobs in European football if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer leaves Man United.

According to Italian news media outlet Tuttosport, the Red Devils and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are on the look for Mancini who has guided the Azzurri to the Nations League semis.

Reports claim United are looking at the possibility of sacking Solskjaer following his inconsistent since the start of the new campaign as Mancini is said to be one potential option.

Recall that Mancini denied legendary United boss Alex Ferguson the Premier League title on the last day of the 2011-12 season when Sergio Aguero grabbed a last-gasp winner against QPR.

During his spell at Man City, the 55-year-old signed top quality players including Aguero, David Silva and Yaya Toure.

He spent four seasons at the Etihad winning the league, FA Cup and the League Cup but was sacked in 2014 after losing the cup final to relegated Wigan.

The Italian gaffer has moved on to manage Turkish side Galatasary, Russian club Zenit St Petersburg and Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Mancini has only lost two matches in 26 games since he took over the mantle as coach of the national team in 2018.

The former Lazio striker is poised to lead his country to go even further in the Nations League as well as the Euros and the 2022 World Cup.

And the possibility of Man United hiring the Italian manager soon would be slim within this period of international tournaments.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Claudio Marchisio has pleaded with his former Juventus teammate Paul Pogba to leave Man United for a second spell with the Biaconeri.

The duo won four Serie titles and two Coppa Italia together with the Old Lady between 2012 and 2016 before Pogba made a record-breaking return to the Red Devils.

Pogba admitted during the international break that this period was his most difficult in his career.
