- The consolidated audience figures for this year’s final are not yet known
- But it’s thought that the final amount, which will include those who watched the show on ITV Hub will top 4m viewers

Love Island enjoyed a record-breaking number of viewers for the final of series five, which aired on ITV2 on Monday night, with 3.8million tuning in at its peak.
Last year, 3.6million viewers watched Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer win the show which was the new record at the time.
This year’s final had an average audience of 3.392m and an extra 400k streamed the show on non-TV devices.

It can be assumed that when the number of consolidated figures for the final are known, this figure will top 4million.
An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘This was the most watched episode of the series and the most watched Love final ever.
The final was the most watched programme in its slot across all channels, and achieved the biggest 16-34 audience of the night, with a strong 1.8million 16-34 TV viewers and an impressive 64% share of 16-34 viewing.

‘After forty-two episodes, across four screen consolidated viewing this series of Love Island has averaged 5.7million viewers.
‘This is up by 600k viewers year on year with the peak episodes breaking the 6 million viewers mark for consolidated four screen viewing.’
Moreover, Monday night’s episode was the most watched Love Island episode of the month.
This year’s Love Island launched with 3.3million average, viewers, compared with 2.9million the year before.
It is no wonder the show was such a huge success, with a staggering 85,000 people applying to be on the show.
And in fact, TV presenter Caroline Flack, 39, recently revealed that due to the show’s success, a new winter edition of the show will be filmed in South Africa.

According to The Mirror, Caroline who host’s the ITV2 romance show and spin-off Aftersun ‘drove a hard bargain’ when re-negotiating her contract ahead of the latest addition to the Love Island franchise.
A TV source revealed to the publication: ‘Caroline negotiates a good deal. She drove a hard bargain.
‘It is thoroughly deserved and she is highly valued at ITV.
‘Her fee for two months each year was £450,000 plus expenses but she’d only agree to commit to both series with a massive pay rise.’
