Once the global pandemic caused by Covid-19 reared its ugly head, a lot of important events were stopped right in their tracks. Concerts, award ceremonies, sports events, and many other special occasions all faced uncertain futures.
One couple, however, refused to allow the virus to kill their joy. Instead of postponing or even more drastically cancelling their wedding, they went right along and celebrated the special event – and they did so beautifully.
Taking to popular Facebook group ImStaying, newly married Magdeline Boer shared pictures of her beautiful wedding, which she explains took place during the lockdown. She also shared an inspirational message about how she refused to let anything stop her from marrying the man she loves.
“Our lockdown wedding. In the midst of this pandemic and all the heartache Covid-19 caused worldwide. We refused to give it power to ruin our day. So we said I DO! It wasn’t what we had in mind at all. I mean every girl wants their dream wedding. But our living room had to do And I don’t regret it for one moment.

Her inspirational post was accompanied by beautiful pictures of herself and her hubby. The post was met warmly by Stayers, who wished the two a happy and beautiful marriage. They also commended her on pushing through the struggles brought along by the lockdown.

Legit.ng also gathered the report of a couple who made the tough decision to continue with their wedding despite their families missing the event. The wedding was held on Friday, April 10, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Interestingly, the couple had issued an apology to their families who would miss out on their big day. Their budget was also significantly cut down.
