8′ De Bruyne whips a dangerous cross into the box from the right flank, but Alderweireld is in the right place to clear the danger ahead of Jesus.
7′ Reguilon takes a risk at the back and is closed down by De Bruyne. However, the Belgian is adjudged to have foul the full-back with a shoulder barge.
5′ Ndombele carves open the City defence with a fine ball over the top for Son to collect and score.

Ndombele catches the City defence cold with a floated ball over the top. Son takes a neat first touch and charges into the box. Ederson commits himself, but the forward slots a low strike through the Brazilian into the back of the net. What a start for Spurs.
4′ Torres makes another run down the left flank and he feeds Silva. The Portuguese tries to force a low ball across the face of goal, but Alderweireld produces an important block.

Tottenham have won both of their meetings with Man City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in all competitions, last winning three home games in a row against the Citizens between 2005-2009 (a run of six).
City have made one change to their side from their draw against Liverpool last time out. Sterling is not fully fit after suffering from a calf problem and is replaced by Mahrez. Aguero returns to the bench for Guardiola’s men after overcoming a hamstring injury.
Mourinho has made two changes to his side that beat West Brom last time out. Bale drops to the bench and is replaced by Bergwijn in the final third. Aurier starts at right-back in place of Matt Doherty, who tested positive for Covid-19 during the week.

City have endured a slow start to the season by their incredibly high standards. They showed their mettle in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool in their last outing, although Kevin De Bruyne’s missed penalty loomed large. Pep Guardiola’s men have lost only once in the league this term and will be out to prove a point against Spurs this evening.
Tottenham face a test of their Premier League title credentials this evening. Before the international break, Jose Mourinho’s men were sitting in second place after reeling off three wins on the bounce, including a 1-0 victory over West Brom last time out. Spurs are unbeaten since the opening day of the campaign, but they will be challenged to maintain their strong record of late.
