The Baltimore Ravens have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. Led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, the team has established themselves as a ground-and-pound offense who can also beat defenses with the passing game.

One part of the offense where it seems like Baltimore can find more opportunities is in the deep passing game. When asked about if that area was a big emphasis for the Ravens, Jackson said the quarterbacks and receivers have been working to make it a big emphasis in 2021.

“Yes, we’ve been working – not just me. All the QBs and the receivers, we’ve been getting together and trying to make that a big emphasis for us this year. People are always saying we throw short, intermediate routes and stuff like that – little five-yard, 10-yard routes. But we had some chances last year. We hit some of them, but we’re just trying to be more consistent this year, and that’s where the strides happen. It starts in practice, and hopefully it transitions to the game. We’ve just got to keep working on it.”

With plenty of work and preparation, Baltimore certainly has the talent to burn teams deep this season. Lamar Jackson has deceptive arm strength and great touch, and the Ravens have deep threats who can stretch the field such as Marquise Brown, Sammy Watkins, Devin Duvernay, and more.

With how potent Baltimore’s ground game already is, the Ravens have a great opportunity to make their offense even more explosive by improving their passing game. There have been some great instances where the deep passing game been displayed, but if the team can hit on more of those throws in 2021, it will be a nightmare for opposing defenses.
