Many locals are taking the leap and going green – with vegetable gardens that is. One such local is a South African woman that has been very busy in her garden growing veggies that have finally started to sprout.

Taking to Facebook’s ImStaying, Portia Mkatu shared a highly motivational post about making the decision to grow her own food. Her inspirational post included a picture of her posing proudly with the fruits of her labour – some spinach and peppers.

She captioned the post:

“Because of the rich soil. From my garden. Never hesitate to start small. #ImStaying.”

In a previous report by Legit.ng, a Nigerian lady identified as Nyifamu Ogechi Manzo inspired people on social media with her success story a year after investing in poultry farming.
