Chinedu Obasi has signed a one-year deal with Austrian Bundesliga outfit SC Rheindorf Altach, reports Completesports.com.

The former Shalke 04 goal hero had been a free agent after leaving Swedish club AIK Solna in 2019.

Obasi scored five impressive goals and made two assists for his former club in 18 matches, but no agreement was reached for the renewal of his contract.

And now he is in Austria as he hopes to make impressive contribution to the team.

“Last week I was already able to see for myself how professional and meticulous the work at SCR Altach is.

“So I’m all the more pleased that it has now worked out and that we can get started together. I want to make my contribution to that we offer the fans a successful and attractive football,” Obasi told newsroom.scra.at after signing his contract.

Christian Mockel, the club’s sporting director, expressed delight with the arrival of the player who can’t wait to hit the ground running with goals.

“We are delighted to be able to welcome such a renowned player as Chinedu Obasi to Altach. Chinedu has already proven his qualities at the highest level.

“We are therefore convinced that he will be one with his scoring danger and experience will play an important role in our team,” Mockel told the club’s official website.

Obasi has had stints with clubs in Germany, England, China, Sweden and Norway.

Also, Nigeria international Ola Aina has joined newly-promoted Premier League outfit Fulham on a season-long loan from Torino.

The Cottagers also have an option to make his move permanent in a deal around £11m provided he impressed at the end of his temporary stay this coming season.

Aina made 37 appearances across competitions Marco Giampaolo’s side creating three assists in the process as they narrowly escaped relegation from the Serie A last campaign.

The Super Eagles defender finally parted ways with the Blues for £9 million in 2019 having already spent time on loan with the Bull.

Legit.ng earlier reported that gormer Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel was in superb form for his new side Stoke City in their 3-0 win over newly-promoted Premier League side Leeds United in a friendly game.

The 33-year-old recently joined the Potters as a free agent having walked out of his previous contract with Turkish side Trabzonspor earlier this year.
