Paul Pogba who has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United reportedly told the club’s board he was willing to leave according to former star Patrice Evra.

Evra has stated Manchester United should be blamed for Pogba’s poor form due to lack of inconsistency in the squad as the Frenchman continues to struggle at the Old Trafford outfit.

He was however handed his first start in one month as the Red Devils take on West Ham as United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer look to rest Bruno Fernandes for their Champions League tie against RB Leipzig scheduled for Tuesday, December 8.

During the pre-match analysis ahead of the West ham vs United tie, Patrice Evra claimed that Pogba told the United board he wanted to leave.

Evra said, as cited in Manchester Evening News:

“But I think it’s normal he’s starting today with Fred and Bruno missing. I think Ole wants Pogba to prove himself so he can be on the team sheet all the time.

“The position of Paul is really easy. He spoke to the board, he wanted to leave Man United to a certain point, they kept him, so it’s difficult to blame him because he’s been honest with the board.

“Now he’s playing, he needs to respect the shirt, his team-mates, the manager and then he’ll have a great chance.

“I can already feel that people just wait for Paul to fail to again criticise him. It’s been a problem because they didn’t deal with it at the beginning of the season, in truth.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that two first-half goals from Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne were all Manchester City needed to defeat Fulham 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

The victory sees the Citizens move three points behind league leaders Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool pending their league games this weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s men returned to winning ways following their 0-0 draw with FC Porto during midweek’s Champions League encounter in Portugal.
