Declan Rice remains a major transfer target for Chelsea football club as Frank Lampard is keen on bringing the defensive midfielder back to the Stamford after he left the club as a kid.

The Blues are set to go all out for the 21-year-old , but West Ham are also desperate in keeping the player and are ready to double his wages to see him earn £120 ,000weekly.

Daily Star are reporting that Chelsea will be made to cough-up as much as £80million if they want Rice back at the club, however the Blues are desperate.

The player’s contract with the Hammers runs until 2024, and although he earns £60,000-a-week at the London Stadium, David Moyes’s side are ready to double the deal to see to fend-off Chelsea.

Chelsea did everything possible to sign the youngster during the summer transfer window, but they failed – and now they have set their eyes for the player in January.

It was gathered that the player left the Blues at the age of 16 to join West Ham and has already featured in over 100 gamed for the Hammers.

They recently brought in £48m striker Timo Werner, £60m attacker Kai Havertz, £50m left-back Ben Chilwell, £36m midfielder Hakim Ziyech and £24m keeper Edouard Mendy, as well as centre-half Thiago Silva on a free.

Meanwhile, Edouard Mendy’s recent comments could annoy Chelsea manager Frank Lampard after saying he has bigger ambitions than playing for the Premier League club, Daily Star.

The Senegalese joined the Stamford Bridge outfit barely days left to the end of the summer window and has already cemented his spot as number one in Lampard’s starting XI.

But the former Rennes shot-stopper believes Chelsea in just a stepping stone to playing for even a bigger club which he has refused to disclose.

And Legit.ng earlier reported that Ozan Kabak could come in a replacement for injured Virgil van Dijk as Liverpool contact German club Schalke for a possible signing of the defender for an initial £20million.

UK outlet Mirror are reporting that the 20-year-old has impressed Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool boss is hoping to bringing the centre-back to Anfield in January.
