Reports from France have it that Ligue 1 reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain are already considering a bid to sign Barcelona captain Lionel Messi.

This is coming barely 24 hours after Brazilian star Neymar informed the club that he would not put pen to paper for his contract extension without the arrival of his former team-mate.

Neymar had made a huge call right after inspiring French champions Paris Saint-Germain to a 3-1 win over Manchester United in the Champions League when he said he wants to reunite with Lionel Messi.

The Brazilian superstar had left Barcelona to the Ligue 1 side in 2017 with many claiming he wanted to leave the ‘shadow’ of Messi in his quest to winning the coveted Ballon d’Or.

Although Neymar has been severally linked with a return to Catalan club Barcelona, the possible exit of Messi at the Catalan club could force the star to stay back in France, but he wants to play alongside Messi next year.

And now Barcelona are considering a massive bud for the 33-year-old Argentine as they are already looking at ways in which they could pull off the sensational free transfer next summer.

Daniel Riolo of RMC Sport on Thursday evening, November 3, stated that Messi will be a PSG player next season and that he is “very serious” about it happening

Messi’s contract expires in June 2021 and still unhappy at Barca, he is free to speak with clubs in January regarding a free transfer in the following window.

The real issue for PSG will be Messi’s wages. He earns a ridiculous €60 million per year at Barcelona, considerably higher than Neymar’s €36 million yearly pay packet at the Parc des Princes.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Barcelona have commenced the process of immortalising their captain Lionel Messi after unveiling his statue at the club’s wax museum.

The Catalans are doing all they can to make him stay beyond next summer when his current deal expires.

As part of the plans to see him remain at the Spanish club, one of their presidential candidates has promised to name the iconic Camp Nou after Messi if he is elected president.
