Eric Garcia is set to join Lionel Messi and team-mates at Spanish club Barcelona after reports claim that the Manchester City star has agreed to join the Catalan giants form £8.9million.
It was gathered that the Blaugrana have been on the trail of the 20-year-old for some time after he had left the club in 2017.
His contract with City lapses at the end of the season and he has stated that he won’t be renewing the deal at the Premier League club.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola earlier expressed confidence that the youngster will remain with the squad as he hoped to seduce him to put pen on paper.
Latest reports from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo via SunSport claim that a deal is now in place for the player at Barcelona.
Man City were said to have reduced their initial asking price from £17.8m to £8.9m, making the deal far more affordable for Barcelona.
The fee will be split into an initial sum of £4.45m, not due until later in the year, with a further £4.45m in variables.
It is said that the Catalans are happy to push ahead with the deal, on the agreement of each of the club presidential candidates.

However, reports from Barcelona have it that Lionel Messi who is already being paid outrageous weekly wages at Barcelona is set to pocket further huge amounts whether he leaves or not.
The Barcelona captain is poised to leave the Catalan club at the end of the season as his contract lapses during the summer.
His future remains in doubt amid interests from Premier League club Manchester City as well as French Ligue 1 outfit PSG.
The Argentine personally admitted in late last year that the club were in a “really bad situation” with “no money” to reinvest in the squad as Barcelona’s perilous financial situation was laid bare.
Meanwhile, Bioreports earlier reported that Man United legend Gary Neville has admitted the club stand a chance to gun for the title after earning a crucial win at Burnley on Tuesday night, January 12.
United edged the Turf Moor-based side 1-0 to cart home all the three points, with Paul Pogba scoring the vital goal that separated the two teams.
The win was enough to send the Red Devils three points clear on top of the standings as Liverpool dropped to second with 33 points.
