83′ CHANCE! Goddard’s set-piece celivery into the box causes a lot of issues for the defence. Farukh gets the ball, he flicks it over the defender and smashes an effort towards goal but it is blocked and cleared!

81′ Mumbai City are throwing a lot more bodies forward as we move into the final ten minutes of the game. The passing, however, is not accurate enough to cause NorthEast problems.

81′ Chance! Shubhashish spills a deflected cross into the box but his defence clears before the situation turns into a disaster

75′ The Islanders continue to dominate the game with 58 per cent of the ball but no shot on target yet. NorthEast’s discipline has stood out.

74′ Cross! Goddard spots Farukh’s late run inside the box and whips a cross from the right flank with his left foot. It is slightly overhit, allowing the defence to clear.

72′ As it stands, the youngest coach in ISL this season is set to start his Indian football stint with a win against a team that’s considered as one of the favourites. Can Mumbai City turn this around? Less than 20 minutes left on the clock.

70′ Appiah’s night comes to an end. Good debut for him – a composed finish from 12 yards when it mattered. Sylla makes his debut.

67′ JUST! A good delivery from the corner and it is met by Sarthak whose powerful header flies just over the bar! That was close!

66′ Pressure – Mumbai City work the ball in and around the NorthEast box and exert pressure on the defence. Boumous plays it to Goddard whose attempted cross takes a deflection on its way out. Corner.

62′ Gallego dances through a group of Mumbai players but is finally brought down by a late challenge from Boumous. NorthEast asking questions in the second half.

59′ Nus responds to Mumbai’s change with two changes of his own – Gallego and Britto comes on. Both attackers, interesting!

58′ Former Spurs youngster replaces Ogbeche as Lobera tries to infuse more pace into Mumbai City for the final hour.

54′ Meetei embarks on a mazy run into the box from the right flank but is dispossessed. NorthEast get a corner but it is also cleared.

49′ GOAAAL! APPIAH FROM THE SPOT! How this game has turned around after the sending off! The Ghanian forward sends Amrinder the wrong way and converts the penalty.

47′ PENALTY TO NORTHEAST UNITED! Fox’s header off a dangerous ball into the box by Machado hits the arm of Borges and the referee points to the spot.

47′ Wide! Machado cuts in from the left flank and attempts a curler that flies just wide!

45′ We’re back for the second half!

HT: Dominant but ineffective from Mumbai City. Resilient from NorthEast United. Careless from Jahouh who picked up a red card.

45′ + 3′ Le Fondre gets to ball into the box and heads it to the path of Ogbeche who is outmuscled off the ball. NorthEast attempt a counter but there isn’t enough time to work the ball up the pitch. It’s half-time.

45′ + 2′ We’re into three minutes of time added to the first half.

45′ That was so disappointing for Mumbai City. Jahouh was running the show in midfield for Lobera but a careless, dangerous tackle has cost the player.

43′ RED CARD! Jahouh flies in for a tackle on catches Khamara studs up in the centre of the pitch – dangerous and he has to go!

39′ Hugo tries to create an opening from the edge of the box. He tries to execute a give and go with Mandar to his left but the return from the full-back is intercepted and cleared.

38′ Golui brushes Machado and the latter goes to ground easily. The resulting free-kick is headed clear.

36′ A weak effort hits the wall and goes out for a corner. The corner is taken long but that too goes out – this time for a goalkick.

35′ Foul! Ogbeche pounces on Khamara’s loose touch and tries to dribble into the box but the Nigerian is fouled. Jahouh on the ball for the free-kick…

34′ NorthEast have been given a bit of breathing space as both teams tone down the intensity. Simple passes being played by both teams from one side to another in search of an opening.

29′ Point to note: Mumbai City may have seen more (read all) of the ball here but NorthEast United are working incredibly hard off the ball to deny space to their opponents. It’s worked so far.

27′ If ISL was to create the highlight reel of this game right now, it would just be a clip of Jahouh passing the ball from different angles.

25′ Looks like Raynier may need to taken off the pitch due to an unfortunate injury. Former Jamshedpur forward Farukh is his replacement.

23′ CHANCE! Raynier tries a chip into the box but the ball is cleared. It falls to Borges whose powerful strike beats the keeper and the post.

22′ 71 per cent possession of the ball with Mumbai City after the first 20 minutes of the game. But both teams have hade zero shots on target. So equal, then?

18′ Jahouh slips the ball to Boumous on the right. Boumous cuts in and lays off for Mandar whose piledriver is way off target.

17′ Rakip’s cross from the right is headed clear. Hugo then tries to chip the ball into the box but neither Rakip nor Ogbeche made a run into the box. NorthEast get a goalkick.

15′ OVER! Mumbai work the ball in and around the NorthEast box. Rakip squares the ball to Hugo who leaves it for Jahouh but the latter’s effort from outside the bo flies over the bar.

13′ SHOT! The corner is taken short and the ball falls to Jahouh who shifts the ball between his feet to evade a challenge and drags a weak shot wide.

12′ Chance! Le Fondre runs in behind down the right flank to latch onto a ball and fires a cross into the box which is cleared for a corner. Ogbeche was waiting!

10′ Update: It is a four-man defence with Jahouh turning up in all areas of the pitch looking for the ball. The former FC Goa midfielder has been heavily involved so far.

8′ Boumous delivers but the corner kick fails to clear the first man. Poor take.

7′ Chance! Mandar with a dart into the box that alerts the NorthEast defence who clear the ball for a corner.

5′ The Islanders are looking to get on the ball and pass it around – without much success in the first few minutes. It has been fairly straightforward on the field.

2′ The early impression is that Lobera has opted for a three-man defence with Jahouh putting in a shift as a centre-back.

1′ KICK-OFF! Mumbai City get us underway!

We’re all set for KICK-OFF in Goa!

Juan Ferrando, in his first game in charge of NorthEast United – has also put out what looks like his strongest XI. Ghanaian Kwesi Appiah, who has played for Nus during his stint with the Ghana national team, leads the line.

The first Mumbai City team put out by Sergio Lobera looks strong up front on paper – Hugo Boumous, Adam Le Fondre and Bartholomew Ogbeche all make their debut for the Islanders!

Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the Indian Super League match between NorthEast United and Mumbai City at the Tilak Maidan, Goa.
