Inter are reportedly closer to Alexis Sanchez, although Manchester United want an obligation rather than an option to buy for more than €15m.
The reports from several Italian sources all point to the same figures, that Inter will pay no more than €4.5m for his salary during the one-season loan and have an option to buy for €15m.
That would require Manchester United to cover two-thirds of his wages while he is playing at San Siro.
According to The Mirror, the request in turn is for the option to become an obligation to buy at the end of the season and for €20m rather than €15m.
Multiple sources in both countries see Monday as being decisive for negotiations and the 30-year-old Chilean is confident he’ll be an Inter player by the September 2 transfer deadline.
