Italian reports insist Anthony Martial’s injury makes no difference to Inter negotiations with Manchester United for Alexis Sanchez.
There had been suggestions today that Martial’s thigh problem could prompt the club to keep hold of the Chilean, as they cannot sign a replacement with the Premier League transfer window shut.
However, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio remains confident the situation has not changed in the slightest.
The problem remains how to split his salary during the loan period, which last season was €12m.
That is lower than expected, because Manchester United have a clause in the contracts of all their players docking 25 per cent if they don’t qualify for the Champions League.
Inter are prepared to reach €5m for the wages, but no more than that, meaning the Premier League club would need to pay over half during his loan period.
The option to buy is also an issue, as Inter are offering €15m, whereas Manchester United would prefer €20m and an obligation rather than option.
