The crisis between elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ife North Local Government of the State of Osun and the council Chairman, Mr. Taiwo Orosanya is far from over.

Few days after his resumption from his two months suspension, the APC elders have raised fresh allegation against Orosanya.

Orosanya was alleged to have sold some local government landed properties at Ife/Ibadan expressway in Ipetumodu at the sum of N18million and allegedly diverted N13million to his personal account.

According to the APC elders, Orosanya allegedly paid N5million into the council’s coffer against N18million.

The allegation came after Orosanya came after serving two months suspension slammed on him on May 4, by the State of Osun House of Assembly for alleged embezzlement.

Chairman of the Ife North APC Elders Committee, Prince Molade Binuyo, said that party executives at the ward level have suspended Orosanya from the party after another fact emerged in a new investigation that exposed the council chairman.

Reacting, the embattled Orosanya denied fresh allegations levied against him by some APC elders in the council, saying they were politically motivated.

He said: “I didn’t sell any government acquired landed property because I’m not in the position to do so. I have my bank account and council has its own, so how would I divert local government fund to my own account?

“I resumed office after I have served the compulsory two months suspension slammed against me by the House of Assembly. I am not aware of any other allegations by the party leadership in my local government.

“I’m not aware that I have been suspended at the ward level. We have met with the Governor and party Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun and other party leaders were also at the level of that meeting where the matter was settled by our amiable governor.”
